Outstanding PTIT students won 2 First prizes at Global Game Jam Vietnam 2025

Global Game Jam Vietnam - a large-scale Game making competition held annually in Vietnam for 7 years, attracting more than 300 participants each year. In 2025, the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology will be the host at two campuses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in an offline format.

The game product "Bubbles in Bubble" by the Academy's student team won first prize in the Board Game category.

The contest is an exciting playground for students nationwide who want to try their hand at Game making; Juniors in the Game industry who want to have their first product, a commercialized product; Game industry personnel who want to challenge themselves or seek new game making experiences and non-industry personnel who want to experience and try their hand at interesting and creative Game making.

With the theme "BUBBLE", it has brought endless inspiration, helping teams create unique and potential products. After 36 hours of continuous development, the teams have brought impressive products, demonstrating creative thinking and excellent programming ability with nearly 70 Game products completed in many formats (2D, 3D, VR).

The student teams of the Academy have won 2 First Prizes. Specifically in the category: Digital Game, the Game product "BUBBLE TEA-GO" of the team "Ae Thu Relax" includes students: Phan Thanh Tan - B22DCCN718 (Team Leader); Phung Hai Yen - B23DCPT352; Le Tuan Ngoc - B22DCAT211; Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh - B22DCCN678; Do Nhat Linh - B22DCPT136. With the Game "BUBBLE TEA-GO", the player has the task of controlling 2 pearls to overcome obstacles, pick up keys and reach the finish line. However, the 2 pearls share the same controller of the player but move on 2 different maps. The player needs to skillfully adjust and calculate the moves so that both pearls reach the finish line.

In the Board Game category, the Game product "Bubbles in Bubble" of the "Pho" team includes students: Doan Thanh Tu - B24DCGA156 (Team Leader), Nguyen Bao Phu - B24DCGA112, Tran Quang Minh - B24DCGA100, Nguyen Dinh Cuong Quoc - B24DCGA124. Sticking to the theme of this GameJam, Bubble. Bubbles in Bubble focuses on describing the image of many small bubbles being pumped into a larger bubble until they stretch and burst. This image is associated with the gameplay of the game, in which the player must try to make their bubble explode last by picking up "bubble" cards of the smallest size and quantity possible, and at the same time tricking other players into picking up "bubble" cards that are as large as possible. It is known that the student team that won the First Prize in the Board Game category are first-year students of the Game Design and Development program that the Academy has just recruited for the first batch in 2024.
