Students before the 'golden time' of the digital economy

On October 17, at the University of Economics and Law (UEL) - Ho Chi Minh City National University , the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Asset Association ( VBA) in collaboration with the Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence Institute ABAII organized the workshop " Blockchain Technology and Crypto Assets : Security Challenges and Career Prospects".

The event attracted more than 500 students and lecturers , kicking off the ABAII Unitour 2025 program series to spread technological and legal knowledge to universities nationwide .

In his opening speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Vu Nam - Vice Rector of the University of Economics and Law emphasized that blockchain is becoming a revolutionary platform in the process of global digital transformation . With its decentralized, transparent and highly secure characteristics , blockchain is not only the infrastructure of cryptographic assets but also opens up new management and business models in many fields . However , along with the potential are great challenges in terms of network security, information security and legal framework.

Analyzing the global market , Mr. Tran Huyen Dinh - Chairman of the Fintech Application Committee (VBA) cited: the crypto asset market has reached a scale of 3,700 billion USD, more than 600 million users , 25 million projects , expected to reach 10,000 billion USD by 2030. Vietnam is currently in the Top 3 of the Asia - Pacific region in terms of participation with 17 million users , Top 7 in the world . He said that human resources with legal and technological knowledge will be the "key" to operating this market .

From the brain policy level , Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City , Chairman of the Young Scientists Club affirmed that crypto assets are a shift in thinking in policy making . The system of national resolutions and strategies such as Resolution 05/2025/NQ-CP, Resolution 222/2025/QH15 or the National Blockchain Strategy is creating a legal foundation for the controlled development of the digital economy .

From an international perspective , Ms. Le Vu Huong Quynh - Director of Development for Asia - Pacific , Tether Group, said that stablecoin USDT has become an important bridge between fiat money and crypto assets , expanding career opportunities for the young generation .

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Phong - Head of the Faculty of Finance - Banking (UEL) shared the pioneering journey since 2019 to bring Fintech into training , integrating AI, Blockchain and data analysis . He emphasized: " University education must update knowledge, connect with businesses so that students can access practical models , and form a global mindset . "

Experts such as Dr. Trinh Thuc Hien - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Economic Law, or Mr. Le Anh Quoc - Director of Operations of AlphaTrue Solutions JSC , all agree that Vietnamese students are facing a "golden time " to develop their careers in the fields of blockchain , fintech and artificial intelligence .

Information sharing took place at the workshop.

During the discussion, students raised many questions about the differences between blockchain and traditional finance , the role of stablecoins , as well as how to participate in Web3, RegTech and AI projects . Experts assessed this as a positive signal , demonstrating the proactive approach to new technology of the young generation - a potential human resource for the future of the digital economy and digital law in Vietnam.
