Nghe An Department of Health has just issued Official Dispatch No. 4266/SYT-NVY "on ensuring medical work after storm No. 10 and floods" to the Provincial Center for Disease Control; public and non-public medical examination and treatment facilities; and medical centers under the Nghe An Department of Health.
Currently, many medical stations in Tan Ky area are flooded.
The document clearly stated: Currently, due to the impact of storm No. 10, many areas in the province have been flooded. To ensure medical examination and treatment; environmental sanitation and disease prevention and control, the Department of Health requires medical facilities in areas at risk of flooding due to rising water to immediately deploy plans to protect assets, facilities, and equipment; proactively evacuate and protect people and assets in low-lying areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides due to the impact of storms and rains.
Review and supplement plans and solutions to respond to natural disasters in line with actual requirements, following the 4-on-the-spot principle to effectively implement and minimize damage; review, balance, transfer and supplement the stock of medicines, chemicals and supplies to ensure adequate response; organize inspection and supervision of the implementation of disease prevention and control activities and medical assurance work in the area.
Be ready to receive, provide emergency aid, and promptly treat victims of storms and floods; have plans to mobilize human resources and means, promptly plan to order and purchase additional supplies, reserve, and ensure there are enough medicines, supplies, equipment, and spare hospital beds to avoid being passive in any situation.
Tan Ky Medical Center examines and treats people in flood-affected areas
The Department of Health assigned medical centers to coordinate with local authorities to review and develop plans to arrange alternative locations to organize health care activities for people in case the local medical station is affected by storms and floods and cannot carry out work at the station.
Medical facilities continue to closely monitor and respond to epidemics during storms, floods, and landslides; promptly detect and promptly handle infectious diseases at risk of outbreaks; localize and handle epidemics, and effectively coordinate with relevant units in protecting people's health and lives.
Prepare disinfectants and sterilizers; coordinate with local authorities to organize environmental sanitation, disinfection, domestic water treatment, waste collection, and ensure clean water for people.
Strengthen propaganda for people in areas affected by storms, floods, landslides on personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, and house hygiene immediately after storms and floods (clean the environment as the water recedes); handle flooded wells, dug wells, and water tanks according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health ; organize spraying of chemicals to kill insects and disease vectors in high-risk areas after environmental sanitation has been carried out; take care of health and food hygiene and safety, use clean water; strengthen inspection and supervision of the quality of clean water used for domestic purposes after storms and floods.
