Shock: Man United was eliminated from the League Cup by a 4th division team

In the 88th minute, center back Harry Maguire scored the equalizer 2-2 for Man United and brought the match into a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. It was thought that in the penalty shootout, Man United would have an advantage in terms of class and mentality compared to their opponents, but the opposite happened.

The two teams had to take 13 penalty shootouts to determine a winner, and Grimsby Town was the winner with a score of 12-11.

Clarke Oduor was the only Grimsby Town player to miss a penalty, while Man United had two players fail to do so: Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
