Son Heung-min has not recovered yet, not sure if he will play for the Vietnamese national team

"Son Heung-min might not play tomorrow night," coach Jurgen Klinsmann said at a press conference before the friendly match between the Korean team and the Vietnamese team. Son Heung-min suffered a minor injury before joining the Korean team. He did not play a single minute in the win over Tunisia a few days ago.

Coach Klinsmann added: " We have to check the physical condition of Son Heung-min and Hwang In-beom in the official training session this afternoon before we can decide whether they will play in the match against Vietnam or not."

The match between Vietnam and Korea will take place at 6pm tomorrow, October 17. During the training session this afternoon, Son Heung-min still participated with his teammates.

A few days ago, after being sidelined in the match against Tunisia, Son Heung-min said : "I have no other wish but to play. I will prepare well. It would be great if I can show my best performance for the national team, especially when playing at home."

In case Son Heung-min does not play, coach Jurgen Klinsmann continues to give the captain's armband to Kim Min-jae. The Bayern Munich player wore the armband for South Korea in the 4-0 win over Tunisia. However, Kim Min-jae could also be rested for the match against Vietnam due to signs of overload.

" I gave the captain's armband to Kim Min-jae in the last match. I can also give that task to Lee Jae-seong. I previously appointed Kim Seung-gyu as temporary captain ," said coach Klinsmann.

The German coach emphasized: "One thing is for sure, we want to win this match. But, equally important is that all the young players need to progress, not depending on any individual. All the players must form a unified block. I always understand that Son Heung-min's inability to play will disappoint the fans, but Son's teammates are also very important."
