At noon on October 3, at Thinh Loc Kindergarten (Loc Ha commune, Ha Tinh province), one of the schools severely damaged by storm No. 10, SGGP reporters recorded that the repair work was basically completed. The corrugated iron roof, steel, and damaged infrastructure were removed and collected to the gathering point.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loi, Vice Principal of the school, said that the school has 13 classrooms with 333 students. However, two recent consecutive storms have caused heavy damage to the school's property and facilities, estimated at billions of dong. Immediately after storm No. 10, dozens of officers and soldiers of the Border Guard, the Military Command of Ha Tinh province, and local authorities were mobilized to help the school overcome the consequences. Thanks to that, on October 3, the school began welcoming about 150/333 students to class but could not arrange boarding meals because the facilities had not been repaired. It is expected that the school will organize boarding meals for the students again in the middle of next week.

In Nghe An province, in the communes of Lam Thanh, Hung Nguyen Nam, Tan Ky, Nghia Hanh, Nghia Dong, etc., students still cannot go to school because the water has not receded and the cleanup work has not been completed. In Cua Lo ward alone, where the storm swept through, 23 out of 26 schools were damaged. Currently, many schools have just cleared up fallen trees and cleaned classrooms, but for repairs, they have to wait for funding from higher levels.

Mr. Tran Sy Ha, Principal of My Ly 2 Primary Boarding School (My Ly Commune) said that because the main school was completely destroyed by flood at the end of July, students still have to study temporarily at satellite schools or at the village cultural houses. After the recent storm No. 10, many roads to school were eroded, making it extremely difficult and potentially dangerous for students and teachers to travel.

Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Thi Oanh, Principal of Hung Loi Primary School (Lam Thanh Commune), said that the school had two classrooms in a level 4 building collapse, and the two-story building had its corrugated iron roof blown off. Currently, the school and local authorities are waiting for the water to recede and cleaning up as the situation develops. If the weather clears up, students will be able to return to school next Monday.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, storm No. 10 and floods in recent days have caused 222 schools to have their roofs blown off, 18 schools to have landslides, and 45 schools to be flooded. In Thanh Hoa, students are still unable to go to school at 21 schools in Nong Cong commune because the water has just receded and the cleanup work is just underway. In addition to local forces, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command has mobilized more than 200 officers and soldiers to help the schools clean up. Ms. Le Thi Hien, Principal of Minh Tho Primary School (Nong Cong commune), said that the school and the forces will organize a general cleaning and cleaning throughout Saturday and Sunday to welcome students back next Monday. According to preliminary statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, storms and floods have damaged 187 educational facilities.
