Author of 'Quy Nhon, the boundless memory' and his loyal friends in his hometown

Before the flight back to the US, musician Ngo Tin called me, his voice full of emotion: "Quy Nhon has truly devoted friends. The concert "Mai Ta Ve" made me extremely happy and moved."

That saying was like a gentle ending to a special music night that took place on the evening of September 29 at Tocepo Lagoo stage (Dong Da street, Quy Nhon ward, Gia Lai province). The music night was called Tomorrow we return - a gift of gratitude dedicated to Quy Nhon children living far away from home.

The precious thing is that all the participants, from singers, musicians to the organizers, all participated voluntarily. No salary, no ticket sales, no sponsorship. Simply the affection for a musician who poured his soul into songs about homeland and love. Besides singers and musicians in Quy Nhon, the program also had the participation of singers and musicians from Nha Trang, Dak Lak and the West, all gathered together just because of their love for musician Ngo Tin and his music.

Mr. Tran Van Quang, Director of VND Travel Company (Gia Lai), one of the initiators and organizers of the program, shared: "Based on our love for Mr. Ngo Tin, we organized a soulmate music night, as a gift from our hometown to the son who wrote many beautiful songs about Quy Nhon and love. We organized it ourselves just to keep the full meaning of the two words soulmate".

The audience came in great numbers, filling the stage space. About 20 typical songs by musician Ngo Tin resounded in the music night: Quy Nhon immense nostalgia, Quy Nhon afternoon sunshine, You now have blue eyes, When I loved you, Tomorrow we will return … Each song not only evokes a memory but also acts as a bridge connecting the heart of the musician far from home with friends and audiences in his hometown.

Growing up and having many memories in Quy Nhon, now living in the US, musician Ngo Tin always lets his nostalgia for his homeland flow into his music . More than 200 of his songs about love and homeland have been sung by leading singers such as Tuan Ngoc, Vu Khanh, Y Lan, Le Thu, Dam Vinh Hung, Lan Nha...

A few years ago, when he unfortunately suffered from a serious illness, music and love for his homeland were the driving force that helped him overcome it. On his recent return to Quy Nhon, in the warm embrace of his friends, musician Ngo Tin felt like he had been given more strength. Mr. Tran Van Quang confided: "We hope that the concert will be a source of energy for musician Ngo Tin to continue fighting his illness and compose more good songs about his homeland and Quy Nhon."

Unfortunately, due to his limited health, musician Ngo Tin could not attend the program in person but could only watch and interact online with the audience. But the affection he received was still complete and warm. Before leaving Vietnam to fly back to the US to continue treatment for his serious illness, musician Ngo Tin emotionally confided to me: "The music night Mai Ta Ve made me truly happy. It gave me more motivation to overcome my illness and compose more. I will definitely write another passionate and emotional song dedicated to Quy Nhon, a land of affection with affectionate friends."

A music night has ended, but the echoes will surely remain in people's hearts forever. It is not only the melodies, but also the friendship and love of the homeland - the materials that have and will nurture the music of musician Ngo Tin forever.
