Due to the impact of storm No. 10 and the storms that have occurred since the beginning of August, Son Dong commune has 60 landslides and 41 traffic roads are frequently flooded. The total length of the landslides is 3,725 m, the volume of soil and rock is about 47,450 m3.
The landslide forced 5 households in Lai village to relocate, the area of rice and crops damaged by landslides was approximately 7 hectares in the villages: Va, Dong Tan, Dong Dau, Lai, Chao, Lang Che, Cai, Hiep Reo, Dinh, Luong Doan, Chao, Man...
Faced with the situation of floods and landslides occurring in the area, the Civil Defense Command of Son Dong commune directed the villages to arrange forces to evacuate people and property from landslide and flooded areas; and to put up warning signs at flooded culverts and roads.
Focus on clearing drainage ditches, clearing landslides onto roads, near houses, and summarizing the damage caused by floods. Mobilize excavators to dig and dredge the entire area of landslides to clear the road; coordinate with the Road Management Department to quickly fix landslides that affect traffic and people's travel.

However, in Son Dong commune, there are still 19 landslides that need to be urgently remedied with a total estimated cost of nearly 26 billion VND, of which the most serious are underground landslides in Lua village; landslides on the fence of the memorial in village 1, landslides behind the auxiliary works of the cultural house in village 4; underground flooding from village 4 to Dinh village, Hiep Reo underground to Dong Lua being swept away by water; landslides on the culvert of the banyan tree root dam, underground stone wall culvert in Dong Dau village; landslides on the dune behind houses in Lai village, underground landslides on Khe Tau from Lai village to Mo village...
Directly inspecting the scene, comrade Phi Thanh Binh affirmed that landslides occurring in Son Dong commune pose a risk of directly affecting and threatening the safety of people's lives and property.
He requested the People's Committee of Son Dong commune to continue reviewing landslide sites and report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for consideration to include them in the list of emergency works on natural disasters to be remedied as soon as possible, minimizing property damage, ensuring the safety of people and households in affected areas and vehicles participating in traffic.
Faced with the flood situation caused by the circulation of storm No. 10, he requested the People's Committee of Son Dong commune to arrange forces to be on duty regularly, proactively grasp the situation, and take quick and timely measures to overcome incidents caused by floods according to the motto "4 on-site".
