Assessment of conditions for recognition of Hoang Lien National Park as a provincial tourist area

On June 24, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a delegation to assess the conditions for recognition of Hoang Lien National Park as a provincial tourist area. This is an important step to put this area on the province's list of key development areas.

The appraisal team includes representatives of specialized agencies of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Construction, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Provincial Police, and People's Committee of Sa Pa town.

Through survey and actual assessment, Hoang Lien National Park basically meets the criteria for recognition as a provincial tourist area (based on Article 12, Decree 168/2017/ND-CP of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Tourism).

Mr. Tran Son Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, spoke at the meeting.

This is an area with unique natural resources, endemic forest ecosystems, Fansipan peak - "the roof of Indochina" and a system of routes, eco-tourism spots, exploration and experience that are well invested.

Along with that, infrastructure such as transportation, electricity, water, telecommunications, signs, etc. have been invested in, effectively connecting with Sa Pa town and neighboring areas.

Besides, the work of managing, protecting resources, preserving landscapes, ensuring security and order within the national park is always carried out seriously.

From the results of the appraisal session, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will submit to the Provincial People's Committee to soon make a decision to recognize Hoang Lien National Park as a provincial tourist area.

Being recognized as a provincial tourist area will create an important legal basis for Hoang Lien National Park to continue to invest, promote and develop green, sustainable tourism products associated with nature conservation and improving community life.
