The model of raising commercial geese in a safe and chain-linked manner was implemented with a scale of 1,500 geese, with 17 households participating, from May to September 2025.

Participating in the model, households are supported with breeds, mixed feed, disinfectants, biological products to clean barns and are trained in care techniques and disease prevention for geese. Participants are mainly poor and near-poor households, who voluntarily register, enthusiastically learn and boldly apply new technical advances in production.
Households commit to comply with technical procedures in care, breeding, disease prevention and environmental protection; not to transfer breeds or supporting materials in any form; at the same time, create conditions for other households to visit, learn, share experiences and comply with inspection and supervision by specialized agencies.

The results showed that applying biosafety procedures helped the geese achieve a high survival rate (95 - 97%), gain weight quickly, female geese after 90 days reached 3 - 3.5 kg, male geese 4 - 4.5 kg, expected to be sold at 4.6 - 5 kg/geese. Thanks to the use of quality breeds, vaccination, regular cleaning and disinfection, the geese were healthy, had smooth feathers, and limited disease. The common rearing time was 2.5 - 3 months, the feed consumption was reasonable, more economical than the traditional rearing method.
In addition to increasing income for households, the model also creates a safe food source, contributes to the formation of commodity production areas, and encourages people to convert ineffective livestock breeds to commercial duck farming.

The model helps create stable jobs, raise farmers' awareness of safe livestock farming and environmental protection. Participating households gradually change their production practices, creating a premise for building a local commercial goose farming area.
From the initial results, the Provincial Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Services Center coordinated with Muong Khuong commune to orientate the expansion of the commercial goose farming model in the coming years, contributing to the development of sustainable agricultural economy .
