Heavy rain and flash floods buried more than 80 houses in It Noc and Lang Chut villages, many houses were submerged in water 2 to 3 meters deep. Immediately after that, Van Ban Commune Police established working groups to survey and assess the extent of damage, promptly grasp the situation to have a plan to support the people.

When the water receded, the police force and the people moved the remaining belongings and helped tie up the rice clumps to preserve the rice grains after the flood. In Lang Chut village, on a stream bank more than 500 meters long, Van Ban Commune Police coordinated with Van Ban Cluster Detention Camp and the people to urgently dig soil, pack bags, and build a makeshift embankment to block the flow and reduce the risk of landslides.

To provide emergency support, Van Ban Commune Police also coordinated with the People's Court of Region 8 - Lao Cai and Van Ban High School No. 1 to transport 1.5 tons of rice to isolated villages, helping people overcome initial difficulties.

The image of officers and soldiers of Van Ban Commune Police standing side by side with people to relocate their properties, preserve each rice clump, and build flood protection embankments has left a deep impression, becoming a spiritual support for people to have more determination to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
