On October 5, Coach Postecoglou and his team lost 0-2 to Newcastle United in round 7 of the Premier League. After nearly a month of taking over the club, Postecoglou has yet to win any of his first 7 matches in all competitions with Forest.
Before the loss to Newcastle, a source from Sky Sports said that Forest chairman Evangelos Marinakis would not hesitate to sack Postecoglou if the team's performance and results did not improve quickly.
Billionaire Marinakis himself also faced anger from his own team's fans after his decision to fire coach Nuno Santo and appoint Postecoglou at the beginning of the season, causing turmoil for the entire team.
Facing the risk of being fired, coach Postecoglou said he would discuss the situation with president Marinakis to find a solution. He said: "I'm not worried. That's why I love this job. If someone wants to evaluate me after three and a half weeks, I can't do anything. Difficulties are normal."
Despite declaring his readiness to fight to the end, Postecoglou's ability to continue in his position at Forest depends largely on the decision of chairman Marinakis - who is famous for being unforgiving towards failed coaches.
