On October 4, K+ Television made a surprise announcement about its store system and distribution of satellite receiver packages and TV Boxes. “From October 1, we will stop sales, subscription renewals and device warranties at K+ stores (K+ Stores),” the station said. The attached list includes 12 locations in localities across the country.

These are almost all of K+’s current large “store” sales points. Meanwhile, K+ TV’s website still updates the agents that coordinate to sell subscriptions, most of which are electronics stores.

In addition, since the beginning of October, the station has also stopped selling all new packages using satellite receivers (DTH) and Internet receivers (TV Box). K+ TV only sells new OTT services via the K+ application. At the same time, they maintain the renewal of subscriptions for services already provided. Currently, users can only buy additional packages for a maximum of 3 months, which will expire in early 2026.

Previously, a series of K+ employees announced their resignation. Most recently, commentator Huy Phuoc and MC Yen Nhi left the station. At the beginning of the season, a series of familiar faces to Premier League audiences such as Xuan Mai, Hai Linh, and Hai Thanh also stopped working with K+.

Since July, information about K+ Television's imminent withdrawal from Vietnam has spread on social media, attracting a large amount of public discussion. The source of the news comes from Canal+ considering withdrawing from the Vietnamese market because the loss "has become significant" and "there is no feasible solution", according to DecodeTV .

"We may decide to drastically restructure our operations here, or even consider withdrawing completely," said Canal+ CEO Maxime Saada.

After that, the station said that they still sell and renew “normally”, and continue to broadcast the tournaments that this company holds the copyright. After this statement, the K+ package on many OTT applications and cable TV is no longer distributed. To watch the copyrighted Premier League, viewers are forced to buy K+.

In Vietnam, French television giant Canal+ is present through Vietnam Satellite Digital Television Company (VSTV) - the owner of K+ Television.

Established in 2009, VSTV is a joint venture between Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab) and Canal+. By 2013, VTVcab's capital contribution to VSTV was transferred to VTV for management. VSTV has a charter capital of 20.1 million USD , of which VTV holds 51%, equivalent to 10.2 million USD , Canal+ holds the remaining 49%.
