Steady growth

Although it was considered a difficult year, Thanh Ha district focused on directing and implementing drastic solutions. The socio-economic situation continued to be stable and developed.

With the efforts of the entire political system, in 2023, the district's economic development indicators all increased compared to the previous year. Agricultural production value increased by 0.7%, industrial and construction production value increased by 14.1%, trade and service production value increased by 12.3%. Average income per capita reached 67.8 million VND, an increase of 6.1%, the poverty rate decreased to 1.8%.

Implementing the national target program on new rural construction, the district has actively reviewed and selected localities with potential to build advanced and exemplary new rural areas. By the end of 2023, the whole district has 7 communes reaching the advanced new rural finish line, including: Thanh Son, Thanh Hai, Cam Che, Tan Viet, Hong Lac, Thanh Lang, Thanh An. Along with building new rural areas, Thanh Ha district has directed communes to select and register OCOP products for the first time and re-issue stars. Up to now, the district has 17 OCOP products recognized such as: Thanh Son lychee, Thanh Ha Golden Drops lychee honey, Thanh Hong grapefruit, Thanh Ha guava, Nam Vu guava, etc. Thanh Ha lychee continues to receive attention for promotion, enhancing the value of the product.

Transport development

The intersection connecting to the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway is under construction in Vinh Lap commune.

The most prominent feature of 2023 is the development of the transport sector. The district has done a good job of clearing the land for Road 390 from Hop Thanh Bridge, Thanh Quang Commune to Thanh Cuong Commune and handed it over to the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board as the investor. The Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway interchange is under construction day and night so that Thanh Ha people can soon overcome the "dead end" in terms of traffic. Currently, the District Investment and Construction Project Management Board is assigned to be the investor of 13 projects, including many traffic projects. Specialized agencies are completing documents to implement a number of traffic-related projects such as: speed bumps, adding lighting systems, signaling systems on branch roads intersecting district and provincial roads; upgrading provincial road 390B and building a section avoiding the center of Thanh Ha town. Some traffic projects are being actively implemented such as: renovating and upgrading district road 190D phase 1; Renovating and repairing the sidewalk from Huong bridge to the traffic light intersection, Thanh Ha town.

Entering the year of Giap Thin 2024, Thanh Ha district focuses on accelerating the progress of the project to renovate and upgrade the Cam Che - Lien Mac - Thanh Xuan route and actively implementing the project to renovate and upgrade the Nua market - An Phuong route. This is a key project of the district in the 2020-2025 term. Construct and complete the construction of 6 new commune police headquarters that are not subject to arrangement and merger according to the province's adjustment project and the district's plan.

Specific targets for 2024:

Thanh Ha district strives to reduce the poverty rate to 1.55%, with average income per capita reaching 72.5 million VND. The value of agricultural and aquatic production reaches 1,976.5 billion VND; the value of industrial and construction production reaches 5,793 billion VND; the value of commercial and service production reaches 4,085 billion VND; and the budget revenue reaches 679.36 billion VND. The district strives to have 1 more commune meeting the advanced new rural standards and 2 communes meeting the model new rural standards.
