"Hue City must create a breakthrough in economic development"

(Dan Tri) - Proposing Hue City to effectively implement Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo on private economic development, General Luong Tam Quang said that it is necessary to arouse the aspiration to become rich in each citizen.

This guiding viewpoint was emphasized by General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, when speaking at the 17th Hue City Party Congress, term 2025-2030, on October 3.

According to General Luong Tam Quang, over the past 5 years, the Party Committee, government and people of Hue city have strived and steadfastly overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving many important results in all fields.

In particular, from January 1, Hue officially became a centrally-governed city, opening a new, stronger development phase in the following years.

General Luong Tam Quang commented that after becoming a centrally-run city, Hue faces a heavy but also glorious responsibility, requiring it to bring more and greater benefits to the people.

Accordingly, Hue must affirm its role and responsibility as a centrally-run city, contributing to the country's rapid and sustainable development process by successfully implementing two 100-year strategic goals.

In the coming term, the Minister of Public Security proposed that the Hue City Party Committee focus on leading and implementing Party building work and the political system with new thinking, vision, and knowledge.

He noted that Hue must improve its capacity to plan and lead the implementation of policies and guidelines, seize opportunities, and promote development space and momentum from the Party's revolutionary decisions.

The city needs to clear bottlenecks, maximize local potential and advantages, and bring Hue to a worthy development in the new era.

Also according to the direction, Hue needs to unify the perception that the Party Congress as well as the revolution in organizational apparatus is an opportunity to review, evaluate, and rearrange the staff, especially leaders at all levels; build a team of staff with enough heart, vision, and aspiration to contribute, dare to think, dare to do, and dare to take responsibility for the common interest.

Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Hue City Party Committee to lead and direct the two-level local government model to operate smoothly and effectively.

He requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels pay attention to and care for, improving all aspects of people's lives; building a government close to the people, serving the people.

The locality also needs to strengthen national defense and security, firmly protect border sovereignty, expand foreign relations, and promote the image of a green, smart, and culturally rich Hue to international friends.

"After the congress, the new Hue City Party Executive Committee is requested to urgently complete the Action Program to implement the Resolution in a specific direction, with clear tasks and responsibilities, and with priority order to allocate resources and implement right from the beginning of the term," Minister Luong Tam Quang directed.
