Hanoi Da Phuc High School replaced the homeroom teacher of class 12D4, after the old teacher grabbed the shirt and dragged a female student in the class.
In addition to no longer being the homeroom teacher and teaching Civics for class 12D4, this teacher also stopped working as a school counselor, according to a report from Da Phuc High School on September 30.
"The teacher was aware of the serious problem with her work and agreed to adjust her assignment," the report said.
On the night of September 29, a video shared on a Hanoi student forum caused a stir, attracting more than 20,000 interactions. In the video, the teacher is wearing a pink shirt, holding a phone in one hand, and grabbing the collar of a female student lying down in front of the classroom door with the other hand, pulling her inside. The female student is crying, unable to stand up, and the teacher says, "Please don't embarrass others because of you." Many students around witnessed this.
According to this teacher's report, the female student (class secretary of class 12D4) was assigned to order a birthday cake for the class, but "ordered a cake different from what was agreed upon with her." On the morning of September 29, after discussing, she told the female student to stand at the classroom door and take care of the cake she ordered herself.
"After the class had finished setting up tables and chairs and setting out the food, the female student saw the teacher coming out and knelt down in front of the classroom door. The teacher told her to stand up, but the student refused. Due to her poor health, she lay down at the classroom door," the report said. The incident then unfolded as the video went viral online.

Da Phuc High School assessed that the teacher’s action of pulling the student was not standard and not appropriate for the position of a homeroom teacher. The female teacher confirmed that she had handled the situation hastily, causing misunderstandings. The report stated that the student in the incident admitted her mistake but did not specify.
Principal Nguyen Duy Hien "hopes students and their families understand" the teacher's actions.
The school said it had reported the incident to the Soc Son town police and the district security team, requesting assistance in removing the posts and clips that were circulating on social media. On September 30, the agency worked with the people involved. The handling of individual responsibilities will be carried out when the investigation agency has a conclusion.
Da Phuc High School in Soc Son district has about 2,000 students in three grades. The school's annual entrance score for grade 10 is about 6.5 points/subject.
