In the announcement, the Deputy Prime Minister requested: Long Thanh International Airport Project is a project that receives special attention from the Party, State and Government; the goal is to be a regional and international transit airport, one of the symbols of the country in the period of entering a new era.

Interior design is an important step, so that the Passenger Terminal project meets the criteria of modernity, has identity, creates a good impression for international visitors when coming to Vietnam, requires the investor Vietnam Airport Corporation (ACV) to take full responsibility in accordance with the provisions of law in the implementation process from the step of proposing the policy, preparing the Feasibility Study Report to the step of technical design, architectural design, interior design of the project; about the content and subject of the contract.

Long Thanh International Airport Passenger Terminal has a capacity of 25 million passengers/year, including the central terminal and 3 wings, with a total area of ​​over 376,000 m2 , including: Check-in island; parking lot; automatic baggage counter; baggage handling systems, security screening, escalators, elevators, pedestrians...

Regarding interior design, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ACV to absorb the opinions of the meeting delegates and complete the interior design plan in the following direction:

- Determine the viewpoints, objectives, arguments, philosophy, and clear thinking of the interior design plan to implement from the whole to the details on the principle of synchronous and systematic implementation, ensuring consistency and consistency in requirements for the airport as a unique, modern, green, sustainable project adapting to climate change. Research, argue closely, have clear ideas when proposing detailed interior design, associated with the architectural design of the project, expressing national, cultural, and traditional characteristics.

- Direct the consulting unit to specifically define consulting products on technical/architectural/interior design.

- Research on space arrangement, materials, and colors suitable for the functional nature of each area (shopping, food services, etc.)

- Construction materials used for the project must be evaluated for consistency with the general design, durability, and suitability to the nature and level of the project.

- Research and consult with professional agencies to use native trees, ensuring adaptation to the environment and interior landscape.

- Consult with leading experts during the interior design process.

- ACV performs seriously, methodically, and is responsible before the law in the design, approval, and investment steps.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to guide ACV in implementing the interior design of the Passenger Terminal to ensure compliance with legal regulations.

Previously, on October 11, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a meeting of the Working Group on the investment project to build Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 to listen to reports and give opinions on the interior design plan of the Passenger Terminal.

The interior design of the Passenger Terminal is inspired by the stylized lotus image, a symbol of Vietnamese culture, and is used throughout the design process from the overall exterior shape to the interior of the check-in area.
