Major General Tran Duc Thuan was approved by the National Assembly Standing Committee as Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs.

On the morning of October 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee held a ceremony to announce and hand over a resolution on personnel work for the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 1861, the National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to approve full-time delegate Tran Duc Thuan at the Committee for National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee for National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs of the 15th National Assembly.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong stated that in each position, Major General Tran Duc Thuan has successfully completed assigned tasks, demonstrating his professional qualifications, capacity and political mettle.

The approval of Major General Tran Duc Thuan to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs demonstrates the trust and recognition of the Secretariat, the National Assembly Party Committee, and the National Assembly Standing Committee for his efforts and struggles in the past time.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly asked Major General Tran Duc Thuan to continue promoting his strengths, capacity, and work experience, and to be more innovative and creative in advising and serving the activities of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, and the Standing Committee of the National Defense, Security, and Foreign Affairs Committee.

In his acceptance speech, the new Deputy Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee Tran Duc Thuan affirmed that in his new position, he will strictly follow the leadership of the Party and the direction and administration of the National Assembly leaders.

Major General Tran Duc Thuan was born in 1968, hometown Nghe An province, professional qualification is master of law.

Before being appointed, Mr. Thuan was a full-time National Assembly delegate working at the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs, belonging to the delegation of Nghe An province.

Currently, the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs is chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi.

Along with Major General Tran Duc Thuan, the Committee also has five other deputy chairmen: Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Duc, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung, Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung, Mr. Don Tuan Phong and Mr. Nguyen Manh Tien.
