Revoking the licenses of 30 postal enterprises in Hanoi

The Ministry of Information and Communications revoked the licenses of 30 postal enterprises and requested the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications to coordinate and support the verification of the addresses and operating status of 38 postal enterprises that are not operating at the registered addresses and cannot be contacted.

The announcement from the Ministry of Information and Communications said that recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications has inspected and monitored the provision of postal services by licensed postal enterprises in Hanoi. Thereby, it shows that some postal enterprises have not strictly complied with the provisions of the law on postal services such as: not providing postal services, using postal licenses for the wrong purposes, not implementing the statistical reporting regime as prescribed, even showing signs of avoiding, not cooperating or not cooperating seriously with competent state agencies when invited to work.

The above violations have caused difficulties for state management of postal services, potentially causing risks of insecurity and insecurity in the provision of postal services such as: leaking correspondence secrets, losing postal items, transporting smuggled and prohibited goods through the postal route, unfair competition between businesses, and negatively affecting the rights of users of postal services.

As a result, the Ministry of Information and Communications has decided to revoke the licenses of 30 postal enterprises; at the same time, it has conducted inspections and supervision of postal service provision activities at the headquarters of 150 postal enterprises. According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, 7 postal enterprises have shown signs of avoidance, non-cooperation or non-serious cooperation with competent state agencies when invited to work; 38 postal enterprises are not operating at the address stated on the granted postal license and cannot be contacted by phone, email registered or declared in the application for postal license, and the confirmation document announcing postal activities.

Pursuant to the provisions of the law on postal services, the Ministry of Information and Communications requests the 38 postal enterprises to urgently contact the Ministry of Information and Communications (Postal Department) to confirm the postal operation status of the enterprises. In case the postal enterprises do not contact, the Ministry of Information and Communications will coordinate with the competent authorities to handle the matter according to the regulations.

The Ministry of Information and Communications also requested the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications to coordinate and support the verification of the addresses and operating status of the 38 postal enterprises mentioned above, and send the verification results to the Ministry of Information and Communications in March for handling according to regulations. In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications requires postal enterprises to strictly comply with the provisions of the law on postal services, ensuring the rights and interests of postal enterprises and users of postal services, contributing to the healthy development of the postal market.
