Accordingly, the whole city recorded 5,240 applications approved for unemployment benefits, with the group of workers aged 25 to 40 accounting for the highest proportion. According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the unemployment insurance policy is playing an important role in stabilizing the labor market and ensuring social security. This policy not only provides financial support to workers but also provides consulting services, job referrals, as well as training support to improve skills, helping them return to work soon.

Specifically, the group of female workers aged 25-40 and over 40 still accounts for the majority of workers applying for unemployment benefits. The age group of 25-40 accounts for 64.77%, an increase of 4.77% compared to the previous month, the group with the highest rate. The age group over 40 accounts for 28% (a slight increase compared to 24% in July), showing that the unemployment situation among the middle-aged group has little fluctuation.

Also in August 2025, the Hanoi Employment Service Center received 6,811 applications for unemployment insurance (a decrease of 262 cases compared to the previous month). The Department of Home Affairs issued decisions on unemployment benefits for 5,240 cases.

“The decrease in unemployment insurance applications shows that workers are more cautious about changing jobs in the remaining period of 2025,” said Mr. Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center.
