Accordingly, 87 products manufactured in the period of August-September 2024 and sold in the Vietnamese market will be recalled due to the risk of the battery overheating, posing a risk of fire and explosion under certain conditions of use (the cause is determined by a number of issues related to some input materials from the supplier).

The recall program begins on September 2, 2025, and will last until all defective products are recalled. Customers are instructed to check the serial number (SN) of their device on the website: https://www.mi.com/vn/support/safety-notice/. If the product is affected, customers can return it to a Xiaomi warehouse free of charge and receive a full refund within 5–10 business days.

Xiaomi will bear all costs related to the recall. The company also said that it has not recorded any incidents or injuries related to this product in Vietnam, but the recall is to ensure safety and quality standards.

The National Competition Commission said it is closely monitoring the program and has asked press and media agencies to coordinate in widely disseminating information to consumers.
