Average income of workers reaches 8.4 million VND/month

According to the report on the labor and employment situation in the third quarter and the first nine months of the year, the General Statistics Office said that the labor force aged 15 and over reached 53.3 million people, an increase of 254,500 people compared to the previous quarter.

Also in this quarter, 52.3 million people were employed, an increase of 261,300 people compared to the previous quarter.

According to the General Statistics Office, the number of workers in the industrial and construction sectors recorded a high increase, reaching 17.5 million people, an increase of 245,500 people over the same period last year.

In contrast, the labor force in the agriculture , forestry and fishery sector decreased by 108,300 people.

The statistical agency said that the trend of labor structure shift continued to be recorded in the third quarter. Service sector workers accounted for the highest proportion at 40.9%, followed by industrial and construction sector at 33.5%.

The proportion of labor in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector accounted for the lowest proportion and continued to decrease to 25.6% compared to the same period last year.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the average monthly income of workers was 8.3 million VND, an increase of 10% over the same period last year.

In addition, the General Statistics Office said that the average monthly income of workers was VND8.4 million, an increase of VND124,400 compared to the previous quarter and an increase of VND747,800 compared to the same period last year.

Of which, male workers have an average income 1.3 times higher. Meanwhile, the average income of workers in urban areas is 1.4 times higher than that in rural areas, equivalent to 10.1 million VND compared to 7.2 million VND.

Compared with the same period last year, the average monthly income growth rate of workers in the third quarter was 1.3 times higher.

In the first 9 months of the year, the average monthly income of workers was 8.3 million VND, an increase of 10% over the same period last year.

Compared with the previous quarter and the same period last year, the General Statistics Office found that the average monthly income of workers increased in the service, industrial and construction sectors.

In the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector alone, the average income of workers decreased.

In particular, the income of workers in the service sector increased the most, reaching 9.97 million VND. Next was the income of workers in the industrial and construction sector, which was 9.13 million VND.

4.84 million VND is the income statistics of workers in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector.

Compared to the same period last year, the third quarter recorded an increase in average monthly income of workers in most economic sectors. Some sectors recorded a fairly high growth rate in average income such as: Real estate business (13.7 million VND); education and training (11.7 million VND); information and communication (14.3 million VND)...

In general, in the first 9 months, workers in some economic sectors had a better average income growth rate than the same period last year, including mining, information and communication, education and training, healthcare and social assistance...

The average monthly income of wage workers in the first 9 months was 9.4 million VND, up 10.3%, an increase of 877,000 VND compared to the same period last year.

In which, the average income of male workers is 1.11 times higher than the average income of female workers (9.8 million VND compared to 8.8 million VND). Meanwhile, workers working in urban areas have an average income of 10.4 million VND, 1.23 times higher than the average income of workers in rural areas (8.5 million VND).
