Previously, patient Nguyen Francis Binh (born in 1962, American nationality) had many seizures and lost consciousness, so he was taken to Ha Tinh General Hospital for emergency treatment. Here, the doctors diagnosed the patient with epilepsy and third-degree atrioventricular block, so he was transferred to the provincial General Hospital in a state of alertness, fatigue, many short periods of loss of consciousness, a heart rate of 40 beats/minute, and cardiac arrest.

After successful implantation of a permanent pacemaker, the patient no longer had seizures and his heart rate was stable.

Immediately after that, the doctors of the Cardiology Department quickly implanted a temporary pacemaker. After the implantation, the patient regained consciousness, stopped having seizures, and had a heart rate of 80 beats per minute. Two days later, the doctors of the Provincial General Hospital held a consultation and decided to implant a permanent pacemaker for the patient. After the implantation, the patient stabilized, had a normal heart rate, and no more seizures. The patient is expected to be discharged in the next 1-2 days.
