Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro

NDO - On the afternoon of October 24, local time, within the framework of activities attending the expanded BRICS Leaders' Summit in Kazan, Russian Federation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.


At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership with Venezuela, and wishes to deepen economic , trade and investment relations for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

Appreciating Venezuela's recent economic and social achievements, the Prime Minister expressed his belief that the Government and people of Venezuela will overcome challenges and difficulties and achieve new achievements for the peace , stability and development of the country and the happiness of the Venezuelan people.

The Venezuelan President congratulated and highly appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements over the past decade; expressed his wish to learn from Vietnam's development experience. President Maduro affirmed the importance of the good solidarity and traditional friendship with Vietnam; wished to increase sharing and cooperation in all fields for mutual development; and proposed to further promote cooperation between the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The two leaders expressed their delight at the positive development of bilateral relations in recent times, affirming their determination to continue promoting deeper, more effective and comprehensive bilateral cooperation.

The two sides agreed to soon hold a meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries; coordinate to effectively implement signed commitments and cooperation agreements, especially in the fields of agriculture, oil and gas, telecommunications; and consider the possibility of expanding cooperation to new and potential fields. The two sides also agreed to strengthen cultural connections and the young generation of the two countries; organize meaningful activities to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1989-2024).

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues, including ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation, and the East Sea issue; and agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums.

On this occasion, the President of Venezuela asked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to convey an invitation to President Luong Cuong and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to soon visit Venezuela.

The Prime Minister respectfully conveyed President Luong Cuong's invitation to President Nicolas Maduro to visit Vietnam in the near future.
