Prime Minister: Vietnam is a reliable partner in the field of logistics, connecting people and connecting countries.

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of October 8, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the World Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders and Transport Associations (FIATA World Congress 2025) - the largest annual event of the world logistics industry.

FIATA World Congress brings together leaders of countries, international organizations, industry associations, experts and businesses in logistics, transportation, import-export and technology. This is the first time Vietnam has hosted, marking a special milestone for FIATA - an organization with nearly a century of development history - and also an important step forward for Vietnam's logistics industry on the path of deep integration.

With the theme "Green and Resilient Logistics", the event gathered more than 1,200 delegates from 150 countries and territories, demonstrating Vietnam's increasingly important role on the global logistics map.

This year's congress focused on discussing topics such as: Cross-border e-commerce, flexible supply chains, new economic corridors, green logistics and developing water-rail transport to reduce emissions and optimize costs.

Speaking at the Congress, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh warmly welcomed, welcomed and respectfully thanked the delegates for their presence, contributions and sharing, and assessed the FIATA Congress 2025 with the theme "Green Logistics, Rapid Adaptation" as an event of special significance.

This is not only an opportunity for the global logistics community to meet, connect, cooperate, and exchange experiences, but also a forum to discuss new trends and find creative solutions, aiming to develop a modern, green, sustainable logistics industry with a higher adaptability to the ever-changing world situation.

According to the Prime Minister, FIATA's selection of Vietnam as the host country for this year's Congress and Hanoi as the venue demonstrates the great trust of the international community in general and the world logistics industry in particular in the role, potential and development aspirations of Vietnam in the logistics sector.

"At the same time, this is also an opportunity for us to continue introducing to international friends a friendly, peaceful, stable, developed Vietnam, a convergence of intelligence, warm and enthusiastic hearts, and people who love each other," the Prime Minister said.

According to the Prime Minister, in the context of globalization and deep international integration today, logistics is increasingly asserting its role as the "blood vessel" of the economy, a bridge between production, circulation, distribution and consumption. As a country located on international maritime and air routes with a coastline of more than 3,200 km, a rich system of seaports, airports and border gates, Vietnam has all the conditions to become an important logistics center in the region. Vietnam identifies logistics as one of the three growth drivers, a fundamental factor to connect manufacturing industries, localities and connect Vietnam with the world.

In recent times, Vietnam has been implementing many synchronous and drastic solutions for the development of the logistics industry, specifically implementing synchronous and drastic investments in developing strategic logistics infrastructure and transport infrastructure across all five modes (road, rail, air, sea, inland waterway).

Notably, the development of the seaport system from North to South, especially large ports such as Cai Mep - Thi Vai, Can Gio, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Hue, Vung Ang (Ha Tinh), Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa), Hai Phong...

In the aviation sector, Vietnam has developed many international airports in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Van Don (Quang Ninh), Can Tho... and especially built the Long Thanh International Airport project to become one of the largest aviation gateways in the region. In the road sector, speed up the construction and completion of the North-South expressway system and coastal roads to connect national logistics centers. Regarding railways, promote and prepare to start construction of standard gauge railway lines connecting with China including Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong, Lang Son - Hanoi, Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong; deploy the North-South high-speed railway project, urban railway lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, Vietnam has issued and applied many strong incentive policies for businesses and investors in the logistics sector such as exemption and reduction of corporate income tax for new investment projects; incentives on land rent and infrastructure in industrial parks and economic zones; support for research and application of technology, especially green technology, digital technology, high technology; priority for quick licensing for a number of environmentally friendly logistics projects...

Along with that are groups of solutions to promote digital transformation in logistics, build smart logistics centers; promote the development of green and sustainable logistics industry; focus on training high-quality human resources for the logistics industry, and smart management.

According to the Prime Minister, in the coming time, the regional and world situation is forecast to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner, with many issues of a national, comprehensive and global nature; difficulties and challenges intertwined with opportunities and advantages. The Prime Minister said that Vietnam wishes for a world of peace, cooperation and development, with love and respect between people, bringing happiness and prosperity to everyone in the world.

"No matter how difficult it is, if we unite, cooperate, promote multilateralism, connect "from heart to heart", connect economies, we will overcome it, bring about the expected results, which are peace, cooperation, development, bring happiness and prosperity to everyone in the world, leaving no one behind," said the Prime Minister.

With that goal, the Prime Minister proposed that the FIATA community and international businesses, together with Vietnam, carry out 5 steps to promote cooperation to connect people with people and countries with countries, bringing about common results.

"5 cooperation enhancements" include: Promoting cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and application of digital technology in logistics; promoting cooperation in developing fast, green, and sustainable logistics; promoting cooperation in supporting the training of high-quality human resources and building smart logistics centers; promoting cooperation in connecting logistics centers within countries, between countries and regions and regions with the world; promoting cooperation in connecting logistics methods related to roads, railways, aviation, seaways, and waterways.

The Prime Minister stated that Vietnam continues to accompany international businesses, organizations, and partners in the spirit of commitment to "3 guarantees" and "3 together".

The "3 guarantees" include: Ensuring the most favorable conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises to participate in investing in logistics development in Vietnam; ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of domestic and international investors and enterprises in all fields, including logistics; ensuring the maintenance of independence, sovereignty, political stability, and social order and safety so that investors can operate safely, securely, and with peace of mind.

"3 together" includes: Listening and understanding between enterprises and the State and people, enterprises and investors, between domestic and international partners; sharing vision and actions to cooperate and support each other for rapid and sustainable development; working together, winning together, enjoying together, developing together, sharing joy, happiness and pride.

According to the Prime Minister, the 2025 FIATA Congress in Hanoi carries a message of solidarity, cooperation, win-win, fast, green and sustainable development of the logistics industry. With the motto "Solidarity - Responsible cooperation - Sustainable development", Vietnam is ready to be a reliable partner, a safe and attractive destination for the business community in general and the logistics sector in particular. The Prime Minister believes that the Congress will be a great success, leaving many deep impressions in the hearts of international friends, hoping that delegates attending the Congress will have more confidence in Vietnam, confidence to cooperate to develop the logistics industry fast, green, digital and sustainable.
