Promoting organic production in the field of cultivation in Ha Tinh

Afternoon of October 10, Ha Tinh Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension (Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences) organized a scientific conference "Evaluation and proposal of solutions to promote organic production in the field of cultivation in Ha Tinh province".

The conference was held within the framework of the Science and Technology Project "Research on building a database to delimit and develop organic farming in Ha Tinh".

At the conference, delegates were informed about some results of the project on assessing potential areas and zoning maps for organic crop production in Ha Tinh province; results of some organic crop models being implemented in Ha Tinh; experiences and models of organic agricultural development in the country and in the world to help localities have more reference bases in organizing and managing production.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung - Deputy Director of the Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension informed about contents related to organic farming.

In addition, based on the Project on organic agriculture development in Ha Tinh province for the period 2024 - 2030 and local production practices, the research team focused on presenting the report "Evaluation and proposal of solutions to promote the development of organic production in the field of cultivation in Ha Tinh province".

Master Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension) presented the report "Evaluation and proposal of some key solutions to promote the development of organic production in the field of cultivation in Ha Tinh province".

The report pointed out challenges in developing organic production in Ha Tinh such as climate change; lack of resources and investment capital; limited consumer market; human resources not meeting the requirements when participating in organic crop production; infrastructure serving production is not synchronous.

From there, the research team proposed important solutions such as: applying science and technology and digital transformation in production, management and traceability processes; perfecting mechanisms and policies to support and encourage businesses and cooperatives; developing technical infrastructure systems; enhancing production and business organization capacity;...

These solutions were evaluated by the delegates as having high practical significance, contributing to promoting sustainable organic production development, increasing the value of agricultural products and income for Ha Tinh people. Along with that, the delegates also shared difficulties and obstacles in production practices; at the same time, contributed and added practical ideas to help the research team perfect the solutions, ensuring they are more suitable to the specific conditions of each region and each type of crop in the locality.

The conference is a forum for scientists, management agencies, cooperatives and businesses to discuss and find suitable directions for sustainable organic agricultural development in the province in the coming time, contributing to effectively implementing the goal of transforming agriculture towards ecology, modernity and low emissions.
