On the morning of October 10, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension (Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences) to organize a scientific conference "Evaluating potential areas and collecting opinions on the map of zoning organic crop production in Ha Tinh province".

The workshop is within the framework of the Science and Technology Project: "Research on building a database to delimit and develop organic farming in Ha Tinh".
The project focused on investigating and evaluating the current status of crop production areas and the potential for organic farming development for some key crops in Ha Tinh province such as rice, vegetables, fruit trees (Phuc Trach grapefruit, oranges, lemons); collected 48 samples of cultivated land, 48 samples of irrigation water (including 23 samples of surface water and 25 samples of groundwater).

From the results of evaluating potential organic growing areas according to the criteria, the project has selected rice, vegetable and fruit growing areas with a total area of 8,764 hectares. Of which, potential organic rice production areas with a total area of 5,130 hectares in 26 communes; potential organic vegetable and fruit production areas with a total area of 412 hectares in 15 communes; potential organic fruit production areas with a total area of 3,222 hectares in 17 communes.
Up to now, the research team has built a map of organic crop production zoning in Ha Tinh province. The map is built based on the base map of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ha Tinh.

At the conference, delegates assessed that the organic crop production zoning map was built to ensure accuracy, logic, high applicability and practicality, and at the same time suggested adding some content to perfect the map to be closer to local reality...
