Currently, we are focusing on making wholesale mooncake orders from corporate customers," the owner shared.
The bakery said that compared to the same time last year, customer demand increased by 20%. Regarding selling prices, the shop increased prices by 5-8% compared to 2024.
This year, the price of moon cakes at Phuong Diem Thuan ranges from 79,000 - 248,000 VND/piece, depending on the type of cake and size. This year, the mooncake shop said it will serve 18 different types of mooncakes. The most popular and ordered mooncakes are mixed scallop, mixed shrimp, taro and pineapple, along with other traditional mooncakes such as mung bean, lotus seed, and mixed.
"Last year, we first launched our mixed scallop mooncake with XO sauce. For traditional bakeries like ours, selling a new product requires careful consideration of many factors. Usually, customers who come to buy prefer the traditional flavor," the owner added.
Many famous cake brands "return" for the Mid-Autumn Festival
Phuong Diem Thuan mooncake shop was formerly a Western cake shop (cookies, cakes...) founded by Mr. Phong's father, Mr. Phuong Diem Thuan, before 1975.
Since 1987, the shop has started making moon cakes with the flavor of the Chaozhou people. His family learned the moon cake making craft from a famous bakery in the past in Cho Lon but now it no longer exists.
Mr. Thuan has 10 children, 3 of whom live abroad, so the bakery is currently inherited by his other children, managed by his youngest son, Phong.
