Innovation in operating methods
The model of “Well-off women helping poor women” has been maintained by the Women’s Union of Xa Phien commune for over 10 years and is a bright spot attracting many members. Through this, women with good economic conditions support and contribute revolving capital, helping women in difficult circumstances have capital to do business. The association also proactively connects members with experience in raising livestock and growing crops to “show them how to do it”, helping women build and develop their economy. This simple but effective way has supported many women to have the opportunity to rise up in life.
The story of overcoming difficulties to start a business of Ms. Diep Anh Tuyet, a member of the Women's Union of Thuan Hoa Hamlet, is proof. Ms. Tuyet shared: "I worked for hire in Binh Duong for 20 years, returning to my hometown with little capital. At the age of 63, starting a business was very difficult for me. Thanks to the guidance of the Women's Union of the commune, I learned how to raise frogs in cages." According to Ms. Tuyet, at first, she was worried and afraid of failure. With the enthusiastic guidance of the sisters who came to her house on how to feed and take care of the frogs to keep them healthy... Ms. Tuyet has been successful with this model. From more than a hundred frogs at first, up to now, on average, Ms. Tuyet raises 2-3 crops per year, and after deducting expenses, she has a profit of more than 70 million VND. Currently, Ms. Tuyet is experimenting with the model of raising quails indoors, with about 500 quails in the good development stage.
