Continue to mobilize all forces to focus on overcoming the consequences caused by storm No. 3

On the afternoon of September 9, comrades: Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT and TKCN); Dang Thanh Giang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council inspected and directed the work of overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 in Hung Ha and Quynh Phu districts. Also attending were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Thai Binh Electricity Company.

Provincial leaders inspected and directed the work of overcoming power grid problems in Tan Tien commune (Hung Ha).

Storm No. 3 has caused a major impact on the power grid system. The work of repairing and handling power grid problems is being carried out by the entire power sector immediately after the storm has passed. The power sector has mobilized maximum forces, means, materials, and equipment to repair and restore. Priority is given to providing electricity immediately to important locations such as government headquarters serving the direction and operation work, medical facilities, and especially providing electricity immediately to all pumping stations serving the work of draining water, protecting rice and crops.

In Hung Ha district, storm No. 3 caused 15/15 power lines to lose power from 3:00 p.m. on September 7 to 3:00 a.m. on September 8. By 7:00 a.m. on September 9, 12/15 power lines had been restored, 356/569 transformer stations had been energized. Currently, there are 3 power lines still out, Thai Binh Electricity Company has directed Hung Ha Electricity to mobilize maximum forces and means to overcome the problem with the goal of restoring power to over 90% of Hung Ha district's customers by 6:00 p.m. on September 9, striving to completely restore power to the district on September 10.

Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit, responsibility and initiative of the electricity sector's staff and workers in overcoming the consequences of the storm, and at the same time requested the electricity sector to continue mobilizing forces, materials and means regardless of day or night to overcome incidents to restore power supply in the fastest time.

Provincial leaders inspected the drainage work for rice and vegetables at Quynh Hoa Pumping Station (Quynh Phu).

Quynh Phu district leaders said that the whole district had about 2,000 hectares of rice flooded, more than 1,500 hectares of summer-autumn crops damaged, thousands of shade trees and fruit trees felled. The district has directed localities to mobilize forces and people to go to the fields to tie rice, clear ditches and water channels in the fields and operate the works to the maximum to drain water as quickly as possible.

Provincial leaders gave gifts to encourage workers operating Quynh Hoa Pumping Station (Quynh Phu).

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control requested Quynh Phu district as well as localities in the province and the agricultural sector to focus on flood drainage, assigning staff to operate pumping stations and sewer systems to drain water to the maximum. The electricity sector ensures stable power supply for all pumping stations to operate drainage to protect the winter-spring rice crop and other crops. The agricultural sector presides over and summarizes the situation of damage to agricultural production. Assign leaders and technical staff to strengthen localities to support solutions to restore agricultural production, prevent and control pests and diseases on winter-spring rice after the storm. Along with that, prepare response plans for natural disasters, absolutely do not be subjective or negligent.
