On the night of October 7 and early morning of October 8, Mr. Bui Tung, Mr. Doan Huong (in Hanoi ) and a group of friends in the motorboat club used canoes to get into deeply flooded areas, promptly bringing many people trapped in houses with water up to the roof to safety.
Before that, from the morning of October 7, Mr. Tung and Mr. Huong's group went to Huong Pagoda, borrowed a large canoe, along with 20 life jackets... to the old Thai Nguyen city area to concentrate on rescuing people.
That same night, the rescue team promptly brought the two grandfathers and grandchildren trapped on the roof to a safe area. The team also contacted the authorities on rescue duty in Thai Nguyen to get a list of deeply flooded areas and people in need of help, operating within the prescribed framework.
At 0:00 on October 8, when hearing the news that more than 15 children were stranded with no place to stay in the Ben Oanh suspension bridge area, Linh Son commune, Mr. Bui Tung's rescue team went by boat in the dark, overcoming many obstacles to bring the children to a safe area.
Not having had time to eat the cold lunch box they had saved from the afternoon, at 3am on the same day, October 8, when they heard that a family of 3 veterans, all infected with Agent Orange, were trapped in a flooded house deep in Linh Son commune, Tung's group immediately set off.
When he arrived, the house was flooded to the roof, the aluminum glass doors were closed and the sliding door was slightly open. Mr. Tung directly held onto the roof, immersed himself in the water, used force to open the door, put on a life jacket to bring each person out of the danger zone...
In the dark, in the midst of rushing water, regardless of danger, the children of Hanoi saved many people, including a 2-month-old baby, old people who could not walk by themselves... Although it was so hard, every time they received a message asking for help, they always sent a message saying they would be there immediately, apologizing for being late...
As of this morning, floodwaters are still raging across Thai Nguyen, but Thai Nguyen is not alone as it has received many relief groups, like Bui Tung's group, present at isolated areas.
On the morning of October 8, the People's Committee of Huong Son Commune, Hanoi organized the transportation of 4 canoes to Thai Nguyen. About 100 other boats and canoes used by local people to transport passengers to Huong Pagoda were ready to go to the flooded areas of Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen to help and rescue people in distress. All boats were equipped with boat drivers, life jackets, and many rescue equipment.
Meanwhile, in the flood center of Thai Nguyen, due to the serious flooding situation in the area, Dat Xanh Mien Bac enterprise has prepared rooms at Tecco Elite City apartment building (Thinh Dan), which is a project of the enterprise, so that people in the flood area can stay during the days of flooding.
