According to initial information, on the afternoon of October 7, in Rung Dai village, Tam Tien commune (Bac Ninh province), prolonged heavy rain caused floodwaters to rise, completely isolating many households, and cutting off residential areas in the middle of a vast sea of water. At about 2:00 p.m. the same day, the authorities received a distress call on Facebook that 14 people were trapped in their homes due to the rapidly rising river water and deep flooding.
Upon receiving the news and conducting verification, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police (Bac Ninh Provincial Police) coordinated with the military and local authorities to urgently deploy rescue work. In harsh weather conditions, the functional forces waded in the water, using boats, life jackets, and lifelines to reach each household in the deeply flooded area.
After many hours, the authorities safely rescued 11 people, including an elderly person, a disabled person and 3 children; and are continuing to mobilize and support the movement of the remaining 3 people out of the danger zone.
At the same time, in Xuan Luong commune, the commune police promptly discovered, approached and rescued Mr. Ly Van Dip (born in 1940, residing in Trai Song village) - who lived alone in a deeply flooded house and had to climb onto the roof of a cupboard to avoid the flood. Thanks to the brave, quick and dedicated actions of the soldiers, Mr. Dip was brought out safely and is currently in stable health.
Previously, as reported by VNA reporters, on the same morning, in Dong Ky commune, the commune police coordinated with the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue force of Bac Ninh Provincial Police to bravely cross the raging water, rescue 5 people in the family of Mr. Vu Duc Tho (born in 1983, Suoi Doc village) who were isolated by floodwaters, and bring them all to safety.
Due to the influence of the weakened low pressure circulation from storm No. 11 combined with the southwest edge of the subtropical high pressure causing wind convergence, from the afternoon and night of October 6 to the morning of October 7, there was widespread heavy rain in Bac Ninh. Many areas continued to be flooded, traffic was cut off, and people's lives were seriously affected. In many localities, floodwaters rose, isolating many villages and hamlets, posing a potential risk of landslides, posing a danger to people.
