The depot area of ​​Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) in Long Binh Ward, Thu Duc City, has an area of ​​more than 20 hectares, built in 2012, phase two expanded to 27 hectares.

Depots are considered the "brains" of the metro line as they are the control, maintenance and repair centers for trains... Usually, more than half of the area of ​​depots will be used to build train parking lots. After a day of operation, the metros will gather here.

Train parking area with 30 parking lines (equivalent to 30 6-car trains). Each line has a parallel drainage ditch.

Up to now, Long Binh depot with operating buildings, main workshop, parking lot, sanitation station, rails, electrical and signal systems have been basically completed.

Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) has 17 trains gathered at Long Binh depot. This metro line is nearly 20km long, going from Ben Thanh station (District 1) to Long Binh depot (Thu Duc City) with 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations.

Other items such as the operation and maintenance building, main workshop, and office area have been basically completed.

The ship washing area has completed many items such as rails, frames, and water pipes.

The main factory area is built of iron and steel, about 4,000 m2 wide, where trains are maintained and repaired.

The first train from Japan arrived at Long Binh depot in October 2020.

All 17 trains have now arrived and are parked on the tracks at the parking lot.

Each train consists of 3 carriages with a length of 61.5 m, can carry 930 passengers including 147 seats.

The parking lot has a roof about 5m high to protect ships from weather damage during repair and maintenance.

The tracks from the parking lot gradually narrow like a funnel as they lead to the new Eastern Bus Station elevated station, nearly a kilometer from the depot.

Currently, many workers and machines are busy constructing the final items and checking the train's test run at the depot.
