This is a campaign to raise public awareness, strengthen digital trust and build a "safe shield" against increasingly sophisticated cybercrime.
According to statistics from the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, in the first 8 months of 2025, Vietnam recorded more than 1,500 online fraud cases, an increase of 65% over the same period in 2024, with estimated losses of more than VND 1,660 billion.
More than 4,500 malicious domains were detected (up 90%) with sophisticated tricks such as deepfake, crypto scams, OTP hijacking, impersonating police or banks... This type of cybercrime also threatens digital trust and the national digital transformation process.

Mr. Tu Luong, Director of Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City emphasized: “Anyone can become a victim of online fraud. Joining hands in this fight, we hope that communication activities will contribute to turning awareness into action to minimize damage and fraudulent behavior of criminals.
Speaking at the program, cyber security expert Ngo Minh Hieu (Hieu PC) said: We can warn, the police can investigate, the bank can block the account, but each person is a "knight" to solve online fraud when we have enough awareness and basic skills to prevent it. Let's slow down a bit to verify when we encounter unsafe situations when operating and handling in cyberspace.
The “National Anti-Fraud” communication campaign is one of the activities in response to the signing ceremony of the “Hanoi Convention” on combating cybercrime, an important international event taking place in Vietnam from October 25 to 26, 2025. This is the first global cooperation framework on cyber security, named after a place in Vietnam, demonstrating Vietnam’s role, prestige and commitment in efforts to protect citizens and digital sovereignty , as well as creating a safe, transparent and humane cyber environment.
