900 artists and actors participate in the 2025 National Cheo Festival

During the 14-day festival, audiences will enjoy 21 elaborately staged plays, deeply reflecting social life, praising the homeland and country, honoring the Vietnamese people along with their moral and humanistic values and aspirations for goodness. The works participating this year are assessed to have carefully invested in content, ideology and staging art, demonstrating the dedication and talent of the artists.

Participating troupes include: Vietnam National Traditional Theatre, Hanoi Cheo Theatre, Army Cheo Theatre, Ninh Binh Art Theatre, Hai Phong Traditional Theatre, Hung Yen Cheo Theatre, Lam Son Art Theatre (Thanh Hoa), Lac Hong Theatre (Phu Tho), Bac Ninh Cheo Theatre, Quang Ninh Art Troupe and Thai Nguyen Ethnic Arts Troupe.

The festival is not only an opportunity to honor artists who have made many contributions to the preservation and promotion of the value of Cheo art, a unique and rich national theatrical form, but also an opportunity for directors, actors, musicians, painters, and choreographers to exchange and share creative experiences.

Held in Bac Ninh, the Kinh Bac region with rich cultural traditions, the 2025 National Cheo Festival is expected to contribute to promoting cultural exchange, tourism and promoting the local image to domestic and international friends. From this heritage land, the resounding Cheo melodies will continue to extend the source of Vietnamese culture, spread traditional values, and nurture the soul and identity of the Vietnamese people in the new era.
