The focus of this High-Level Week will be the Future Summit (from September 22 to 23) and the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly (from September 24 to 28). The parties are expected to focus on calling for increased international cooperation and strengthening multilateralism, in which the United Nations has a central position to promote the implementation of common goals, especially the sustainable development goals. Vietnam is in the core group promoting the United Nations General Assembly resolution to seek advisory opinions from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the responsibility of countries for climate change. Vietnam has also made many contributions as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2023-2026 term, a member of the International Law Commission for the 2023-2027 term, as well as twice serving as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and many other important agencies.
