Tottenham, as usual this season, played open football and no different from their opponents. Therefore, the match took place in an open, high-tempo game. Dangerous chances were created continuously by both teams, along with mistakes. The home team showed that they took advantage of their opportunities better, while making fewer dangerous mistakes.
Tottenham won, but there was still a blemish when midfielder Pape Sarr and Veliz appeared to have serious leg injuries, leaving the field in tears. Coach Postecoglou will have an additional headache because he has lost many key players in the squad for the same reason.
It was Sarr who opened the scoring, after the away team goalkeeper Neto misplaced his pass. Lo Celso recovered the ball and passed it to the Senegalese midfielder, with space in front of him. Sarr dribbled for a few steps without any of the away team players rushing to the corner, allowing him to comfortably enter the penalty area and shoot low across the corner past Neto.
