Da Nang opens the 2025 East-West Economic Corridor International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair

Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Le Hoang Tai; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City Le Tri Thanh; Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi attended.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the EWEC - Da Nang 2025 Fair is the first international trade promotion event held since the merger of Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, marking the beginning of a new development phase of the city; contributing to promoting friendly cooperation, understanding and mutual trust with countries on the East-West Economic Corridor and countries in the region.

Da Nang City currently has a population of over 3 million people and is the largest city among the 6 centrally-run cities, with 2 international airports, 3 international seaports and a fairly synchronous transportation system, connecting seamlessly along the North-South and East-West axes.

Accordingly, logistics is considered a key industry, connecting Tien Sa, Lien Chieu, Chu Lai seaports to the Mekong sub-region countries via the East-West Economic Corridor; helping to connect more effectively between regions, creating favorable conditions for trade, transporting goods and providing services between localities; at the same time creating a more attractive tourism and investment destination.

“This fair will be an opportunity for businesses to seek strategic partners and expand markets; for localities to strengthen friendship and close cooperation; and for tourists and people to have more enriching experiences.

The city hopes that the EWEC - Da Nang 2025 Fair will become the first step to jointly build a common economic space, where trust is fostered, opportunities are shared, and success is multiplied," Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized.

Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Le Hoang Tai affirmed that in the context that the whole country is focusing on implementing socio-economic development goals in 2025, striving for GDP growth of 8.3-8.5%, exploiting the potential of key economic regions, especially the East-West Economic Corridor, is of great importance.

Da Nang, as a strategic hub of this economic corridor, is entering a new phase of development as the Government has allowed the establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone - a pioneering model combining unique institutions, modern infrastructure and innovative approaches.

This will be a driving force not only to promote the city's growth but also to create a spillover effect for the entire Central Highlands region; at the same time, enhance connectivity between domestic and international localities.

The fair is an opportunity to promote cooperation, increase supply chain value and enhance business competitiveness.

Taking place from October 1 to 6, the EWEC - Da Nang Fair 2025 has a scale of more than 200 booths of more than 150 enterprises from provinces and cities across the country, along with booths representing a number of East-West Economic Corridor countries such as Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia...

The products and goods displayed at the fair are diverse and rich in many fields such as textiles, electronics - technology, food - agricultural products; handicrafts, fashion, household goods and other services (logistics, travel services, tourism, education, health care...), traditional craft village products, OCOP products.
