Storm after storm has caused great damage to the people of Ha Tinh . However, overcoming the difficulties, with the responsibility of caring for future generations, all levels, sectors and localities in Ha Tinh have turned to the Mid-Autumn Festival with practical and warm tasks. Each lantern, each gift has lit up hope and love in this special "moon season".

Tran Tuan Nghia was moved when receiving support from the Provincial Youth Union and Tuoi Tre Newspaper, helping his family gradually overcome difficulties after the storm.

Right after storm No. 5 passed, storm No. 10 made landfall, "devastating" many rural areas of Ha Tinh. Storm No. 10 had strong winds, causing heavy rain and flooding in many localities. The storm damaged nearly 79,000 houses, knocked down 1,552 hectares of crops, damaged 427 schools, had their roofs blown off..., and seriously disrupted people's lives. In such circumstances, organizing a Mid-Autumn Festival for children seemed difficult to do. However, with determination and a spirit of sharing, organizations, unions, local authorities and many volunteer groups came together to create a special Mid-Autumn Festival, simple but full of love.

In order to promptly share with families severely affected by storm No. 10, Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union in coordination with Tuoi Tre Newspaper presented 29 gifts, each worth 8 million VND, to help people stabilize their lives soon. Among the households receiving gifts was the family of Tran Tuan Nghia - a student at Le Binh Secondary School (Thach Lac Commune). Nghia lives with his mother and brother who are undergoing dialysis, and now the small house's roof has been blown off by the storm, making the family's life even more difficult.

Receiving the gift, Nghia emotionally shared: “Thanks to the care of the uncles and aunts, my family will soon have a stable place to live. Although this year's Mid-Autumn Festival is more difficult than previous years, I feel warm because of the sharing and I will try to study well to not let everyone down.”

Not only Nghia’s family, many other children have also received this attention. Hundreds of Mid-Autumn gifts have been handed out to children in areas heavily affected by storms and floods. The lanterns, cake boxes, notebooks, etc., although simple, contain the community’s affection, giving the children the strength to keep their childhood joy and stand firm in the face of difficulties.

The small gifts given helped Duc Tho children have more joy after the storm and flood.

In Duc Tho commune, recently, the Commune Youth Union coordinated with the Commune Police Youth Union to bring Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children in flooded areas. In the "dilapidated" house after the storm and flood, Ms. Ngo Thi Tham (village 6) was moved to tears when she saw her children receiving unexpected joy. Ms. Tham shared: "After the storm and flood, almost everything in the house was damaged, and there were no more crops. I was afraid that my children would be sad because they would not have Mid-Autumn Festival like their friends. But when I received the gifts, saw the children happy, smiling with small lanterns and candy packages, I felt warmer...".

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai Dang - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the province, Head of the Youth Union and Children's Affairs Department (Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province) said: "This year, although natural disasters have made the Mid-Autumn Festival of many children not complete, the spirit of sharing and responsibility of the youth is still highly promoted. We have applied many flexible forms to mobilize support resources, ensuring that all children, especially those in difficult areas, areas heavily affected by floods and natural disasters, still receive meaningful gifts and have a warm Mid-Autumn Festival".

The joy and excitement of children at Ha Tinh Orphanage when celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.

At the Ha Tinh Orphanage, 102 children being cared for also receive special attention from organizations and volunteer groups. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Deputy Director of the Orphanage said: "The attention of authorities at all levels, organizations and philanthropists does not stop at gifts, but the most precious thing is the love and sharing that helps the children feel that they are not alone. Every fun activity, every Mid-Autumn gift, every lantern lit... is a great source of motivation to help children believe in life and have more hope to excel in their studies and training."

It is known that before storm No. 10 swept through, many Mid-Autumn Festival programs were organized, leaving beautiful echoes in childhood memories. In Son Giang commune, the program "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2025" organized by Tuong Son Pagoda in coordination with local authorities attracted 500 children to participate. The bustling atmosphere of drum beats, shimmering lanterns, and colorful feasts brought complete happiness.

The volunteer team "Dreams Are Not Far Away" (Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, Duc Tho Commune) organized a lantern making activity to give to children in the area.

In parallel, the program “Lanterns to Light Up Dreams” has been implemented in many localities. Scholarships, notebooks, school supplies and simple lanterns have become a source of spiritual encouragement, helping children gain more confidence on their journey to adulthood.

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival in Ha Tinh also took place in the context of many important events in the country and the locality. The country has just celebrated the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. The province has also successfully organized the 20th Provincial Party Congress. In that atmosphere, the activities to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival are not only for entertainment but also convey a larger message, which is the care and concern of the Party, the State and the whole society for the young generation.

Despite the difficulties caused by nature, with the attention of all levels and sectors, children in Ha Tinh had a "moon season" full of love.

Despite natural disasters, the Mid-Autumn Festival in Ha Tinh still brings warm and loving moments. It is the joy of the people, the crisp laughter of children resounding when breaking the cake, watching the lion dance, the lantern procession, and watching the moon bustling throughout the countryside... Along with that, sharing and support programs are widely organized in localities, clearly demonstrating the sense of responsibility and solidarity of the community. Mid-Autumn Festival is not only an occasion for fun but also affirms social cohesion, conveying messages of kindness, trust and hope. Each gift, each act of sharing, no matter how simple, contributes to making the "Moon season" in Ha Tinh warmer, more complete and leaves in the memories of children lasting, good values of kindness of the community. That is also the motivation for all levels, sectors and the whole society to continue to accompany and care for future generations.
