Deploying work to ensure dike safety to respond to floods on the Ma River

The water level of the Ma River is rising.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the flood in the upper Ma River is rising rapidly; from the evening of August 1 to August 3, a flood appeared on the Ma River, the flood peak in the upper stream reached level BĐIII, the mid- and downstream stations reached level BĐI - BĐII, some places above BĐII.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 844/DD-QLDD dated August 1, 2025 on the implementation of work to ensure dike safety to respond to floods on the Ma River; to ensure the safety of the dike system and proactively respond to floods, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of communes and wards with dikes to urgently implement the following contents:

Check, review and implement in practice dike protection plans, protect key vulnerable dikes, locations where incidents have occurred but have not been handled or repaired, and unfinished dike projects to ensure safety.

Strengthen inspection work on dyke routes, strictly carry out patrolling and guarding work to protect dykes during the flood season according to the provisions of Circular No. 01/2009/TT-BNN dated January 6, 2009 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) to promptly detect and handle incidents and situations that may occur right from the first hour.

Prepare human resources, materials, vehicles and equipment to protect the dikes; at the same time, check the actual preparation work and proactively respond to incidents and situations that may occur according to the "4 on-site" motto, ensuring safety for the dikes.

Organize 24/7 on-duty, arrange permanent forces at incident sites and promptly report dike construction incidents to the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control to coordinate, direct, handle and synthesize.
