At the program, Comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, stated that the Party and State always pay attention to protecting, caring for, honoring and promoting the knowledge, experience and prestige of the elderly according to their abilities, continuing to contribute to the revolutionary cause of the Party, society and family. We not only care about the elderly living happily, healthily and happily, but also create conditions for them to continue to give advice and inspire the younger generation, contributing to building a rich, beautiful, humane and modern society. The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also requested Party committees and authorities at all levels, ministries, branches, sectors and social organizations to proactively review and evaluate the results of implementing policies and laws on the elderly; propose appropriate mechanisms and policies to care for and protect the elderly so that they have an increasingly better material and spiritual life.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly , in recent times, the humanitarian program "Bright eyes for the elderly" has examined and consulted on eye diseases for more than 3.6 million elderly people; over 540,000 elderly people have been treated for eye diseases... with a budget of more than 513 billion VND.
* On the same day, the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Hung Ward (HCMC) launched the Action Month "For the Vietnamese Elderly in 2025" and the festival "For community health".
At the ceremony, the ward organized a birthday celebration for 100 elderly people (70, 75, 80, 85 and 95 years old), representing nearly 1,000 elderly people in the area. Those who were not able to attend the ceremony will have their birthdays celebrated at their homes. At the festival, hospitals, medical centers and many philanthropists also organized health check-ups, consultations, free medicine distribution; and hundreds of gifts were given to the elderly and disadvantaged households.
