On the morning of June 8, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Chien, Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) said that the unit had found and invited to the police headquarters to work with the young man who had just done a wheelie and swung his motorbike in front of My Dinh Stadium Square on the morning of May 31.

“We identified the young man driving the motorbike on one wheel on Le Quang Dao Street, in front of My Dinh Stadium Square, as a NCT, born in 2003, with permanent residence in Nghe An, ” said Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Chien.

The captain of Traffic Police Team No. 6 added that as soon as the information was received, the unit sent officers and soldiers to check the entire camera system on the road to identify the license plate and the driver of the vehicle.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Chien added: “Through the struggle, the subject T. admitted all of his violations. At the same time, T. also handed over many clips of motorbike wheelies on other routes. We have handed over the case to the police investigation agency of Cau Giay District Police for further investigation and clarification.”

At the police station, NCT said that at around 9:30 a.m. on May 31, T. drove a motorbike with a Nghe An license plate from Hung Yen to Hanoi to play. While traveling on Le Quang Dao Street, in front of My Dinh Stadium Square, heading towards Cau Giay, T. wheelied the motorbike for about 600 meters.

NCT also said that he wheelied and swerved to find friends to socialize with. However, T. saw that everyone on the same street was very scared and actively avoided T. The young man also realized that this was a very dangerous action.

The wheelie clips were filmed by T. himself and posted on social media.

It is worth noting that this is not the first case of young men doing a wheelie on a motorbike in Hanoi last week. On June 5, the Investigation Police Department of Cau Giay District Police also issued a decision to temporarily detain four young men, including HPP, NTL (born in 2005, both residing in Thanh Tri, Hanoi), NHĐ. (born in 2005) and NTAH (born in 2001, both residing in Thanh Oai, Hanoi) to investigate the act of disturbing public order. Previously, these young men had been riding a motorbike doing a wheelie on many streets in Hanoi.
