According to the announcement of the Party Central Office, at the 9th Party Central Conference, the Party considered removing Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, from her positions and work.

According to the Central Executive Committee, Ms. Truong Thi Mai is a senior leader of the Party and State, with basic training and maturity from the grassroots; assigned to hold many important leadership positions of the Party and State.

Throughout her work and leadership positions, she has always upheld her sense of responsibility, completed assigned tasks well, and made many important contributions to the leadership, direction, and administration of the Party and the activities of the National Assembly .

However, according to the report of the Central Inspection Commission , during her tenure as a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, she committed a number of violations and shortcomings in implementing the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, the Regulations on exemplary responsibilities of cadres and Party members, first of all, Politburo members, Secretariat members, and Central Executive Committee members; affecting the prestige of the Party and the individual.

Realizing her responsibility to the Party and the People, she submitted a request to resign from her assigned positions and retire from work.

Pursuant to current regulations of the Party and State and considering the wishes of Ms. Truong Thi Mai, the Party Central Committee agreed to let Ms. Truong Thi Mai cease to hold the position of Politburo member and member of the 13th Party Central Committee./.

Ms. Truong Thi Mai, born in 1958, from Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh. Ms. Mai has a master's degree in public administration, a bachelor's degree in history, and a bachelor's degree in law.

Before the Central Committee agreed to remove her positions, Ms. Mai was a member of the Politburo of the 12th and 13th terms; Secretary of the Party Central Committee of the 12th and 13th terms; Member of the Party Central Committee of the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th terms; and National Assembly delegate of the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th terms.

Ms. Mai has held positions such as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children of the 11th National Assembly, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs of the 12th and 13th National Assembly.

After that, Ms. Mai held the position of Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization. From April 2021, she was assigned to hold the position of Head of the Central Organizing Committee.

From March 2023, she was assigned to hold the position of Standing Secretary of the Secretariat and Head of the Central Organization Committee.
