Science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are top important breakthroughs.

On the morning of October 1, General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and 800 delegates from the business community, research institutes, universities, investment funds, and international organizations attended the ceremony to respond to the National Innovation Day 2025.

The ceremony to respond to the National Innovation Day 2025 was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the Ministry of Finance , with the theme "Innovation for all people - Driving force for national development".

The response ceremony was connected online with 34 provinces and cities nationwide. At the An Giang province bridge, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong chaired the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that Vietnam must consider science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as the top important breakthroughs and the main driving force for innovation in the development model. Innovation must go hand in hand with the solid development of the science and technology foundation, and the enhancement of the level of strategic autonomy in national technology.

General Secretary To Lam proposed urgently implementing an action program to develop 11 strategic technologies, clearly defining a roadmap for mastery, especially technologies such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, big data, safety, network security and cryptography, biotechnology, biomedicine, new materials, new energy, electronics, sensors, and robots.

In the coming time, the state will create institutions, ensure fairness, protect intellectual property rights, invest in digital infrastructure, pave the way for breakthrough innovations to bring new values ​​or solve previous problems. Enterprises will become the center of innovation, where ideas are turned into products, knowledge is turned into value, and technology is turned into competitive strength.

At the ceremony, the organizing committee announced the Local Innovation Index (PII 2025) and launched many connection and cooperation programs from the business community, international organizations and experts.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches and localities to take drastic actions in innovation, not to let administrative procedures get stuck, and not to limit the innovation space of any collective or individual...
