Truong Long improves the quality of new rural models associated with sustainable development

In recent times, Truong Long commune has always made efforts to improve the quality of new rural area (NTM) model construction associated with the goal of sustainable development, promoting local socio-economic development, and improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Bright spot of model new rural area

Since being recognized as a commune meeting advanced NTM standards in 2022 and a model NTM in 2023, up to now, the NTM picture of Truong Long has been increasingly prosperous. The socio -economic infrastructure in rural areas has developed synchronously. The appearance of the commune has changed a lot, especially in terms of the traffic system when the commune has 100% of asphalt roads; 100% of alleys and hamlets are hardened and no longer muddy in the rainy season; 100% of 4m traffic routes are installed with lighting systems. The material and spiritual life of rural people continues to improve. The average income per capita of the commune is from 73.3 million VND/person in 2022 to more than 80.2 million VND/person/year by the end of 2024. The commune has only 0.9% of near-poor households.

Lo Ren star apple products have achieved 4-star OCOP certification of Truong Long commune.

Promoting the strength of agricultural production, Truong Long builds a model new rural area in "Organizing production and rural development". The commune promotes propaganda and mobilizes farmers to change the crop structure to suit the soil, bringing high economic efficiency. With an agricultural land area of ​​2,662 hectares, mainly durian, star apple, jackfruit, seedless lemon... The commune has 2 concentrated raw material areas for key agricultural products and is granted a growing area code, including: star apple, seedless lemon with a total area of ​​85 hectares; Lo Ren star apple and pink avocado star apple of Truong Khuong A Fruit Garden Cooperative, achieving 4-star OCOP products. The commune currently has 12 agricultural production cooperatives and 3 agricultural cooperatives. Of which, there are 2 cooperatives linked in production according to value chain, according to VietGAP standards and have guaranteed output of products, contributing to the restructuring of agricultural production towards concentration, large scale, improving quality and production efficiency.

Truong Long Commune has built a smart hamlet model in Truong Thuan Hamlet. Currently, most public places in Truong Thuan Hamlet have high-speed wifi, meeting the needs of transmitting the Party's policies, the State's laws and socio-economic development policies at all levels to the people. 16 loudspeakers using information and telecommunications technology have been installed in the commune. Currently, 86.6% of people in Truong Thuan Hamlet use smartphones; 71.3% of households have fiber optic broadband.

Firmly step on the new path

The achievements in building, maintaining and improving the quality of the model NTM criteria of Truong Long are the flexible and creative application of the Party Committee and local government in leadership, direction and operation and the high consensus of the people. The commune continues to promote internal strength, arouse the spirit of solidarity, creativity and responsibility of the entire political system, building Truong Long to be more and more prosperous and beautiful.

According to Ms. Ha Thi Nhan, Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Truong Long Commune, responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas", the Farmers' Association of the commune has focused on propagating and mobilizing farmer members to promote their role as the main subject in building new rural areas. Accordingly, they actively participated in implementing the criteria, especially the criteria on environment and income; members and farmers donated ^7,500m2 of land to carry out new rural construction projects; participated in clearing 47km of rural roads; repaired and built 12 new concrete bridges; lit up 2.5km of rural roads; planted 4,500 trees of all kinds to create environmental landscapes; built a model for collecting household waste and collecting pesticide bottles... The Association continues to launch and improve the quality of emulation movements, especially the movement to build a model new rural commune.

Mr. Tran Van Son, Head of the People's Committee of Truong Phu Hamlet, shared: "I often propagate the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, and the locality's policies and laws to mobilize people to participate in building the new rural areas with specific and practical actions.
