Kinhtedothi - Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve is considered the "green lung" of Dong Nai province and the entire Southeast region. Dong Nai province has just directed this place to gradually develop and implement a project for eco- tourism , resort and entertainment in a professional manner.


In 1997, Dong Nai province proposed a policy of "closing natural forests", forming a large and contiguous nature reserve with an area of ​​more than 150,000 hectares of continuous natural forest located in the North of the province - where typical forest habitats of the lower Dong Nai river are distributed.

The Southeast region is characterized by its habitat of wild animals, including many rare and endangered species listed in the Vietnam Red Book and the IUCN Red List.

To continue to protect the achievements, Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve was established with the function of preserving the existing forest area intact; restoring, protecting and continuing to enrich the forest, while promoting the value of revolutionary historical relics, biodiversity, ensuring the strategy of sustainable economic development and environmental protection of Dong Nai and the entire Southeast region.

Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve is currently considered the "green lung" of the Southeast region, making an important contribution to the strategy of sustainable economic development and environmental protection of Dong Nai in particular and the whole country in general. The efforts of the Reserve have been highly appreciated by domestic and international organizations as a model in nature and culture conservation. The above results were marked by the event of UNESCO recognizing the Reserve as the 580th Biosphere Reserve of the world on June 29, 2011, with the name Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve.

At the end of 2023, the Dong Nai Nature - Cultural Reserve was approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee for the Project on eco-tourism, resort and entertainment of the Reserve until 2030. According to the Project, 37 tourist routes inside and outside the Reserve are connected, 51 investment projects in the form of self-organization, joint ventures, or leasing of forest environment for tourism business.

Up to now, 12 investors have applied to rent forest environment in the Reserve and passed the bidding round. With the goal of developing ecotourism in a sustainable direction, which is "protecting nature, protecting culture, protecting the future", the Reserve is gradually building ecotourism in a professional direction, in accordance with the law.

Mr. Vo Van Phi - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee requested that in the coming time, Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve continue to do well in protecting, conserving biodiversity and developing forests in an increasingly sustainable direction. At the same time, well implement the project on eco-tourism, resort and entertainment until 2030 which has been approved by this province.
