Vietnam women's volleyball team impressively defeated the Philippines

On the evening of June 29, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had their second victory in the group stage of VTV Cup 2025 with a convincing performance against the Philippines. The match ended with a score of 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) in favor of the Vietnamese girls.

Two weeks after the AVC Nations Cup 2025 final in Hanoi , the Vietnamese women's volleyball team met the Philippines again in Group A of the VTV Cup 2025. Compared to the previous clash, this time the Philippines entered the match with a relaxed spirit, making the gameplay more coherent.

The opening set saw the girls in blue use their powerful weapons in serving with spin and difficult landing points, causing the Vietnamese team to repeatedly make first pass errors.

After only 2 weeks, the Philippines has improved very quickly, with a sharp attacking style and excellent backline defense. Many of the Vietnamese team's strong attacks were neutralized, making the game tense.

However, with good attacking players, Vietnam was still the team that dominated the game before taking the lead at the end of the set. On the day when "cannon" Bich Tuyen was not in really good form, Lam Oanh aimed for quick passes to position number 3 so that Bich Thuy and Nguyen Thi Trinh could continuously score points from situations with one leg behind the head.

On the defensive front, we cannot fail to mention the impressive defensive ability of captain Thanh Thuy. Many of her miraculous saves helped the Vietnamese team stay mentally confident during times when the two teams were fiercely chasing each other.

The three sets followed the same scenario as the two teams continuously exchanged points in the first half of the set before the Vietnamese team took the lead to win 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21).

With two convincing victories, the Vietnamese team is at the top of Group A and has one more match against Sichuan Club (China) taking place at 7pm on July 1. This is the decisive match for the top spot in Group A.
