Tuyen Quang suffered heavy damage from storm No. 10, proactively preventing storm No. 11

According to the report of the Civil Defense Command of Tuyen Quang province, by October 4, floods caused by storm No. 10 had left 8 people dead or missing; affected, damaged and lost 22,600 houses, and damaged more than 120 schools, cultural houses, and medical stations.

During storm No. 10, serious landslides occurred in many locations in Ngoa village in Yen Phu commune. The long cracks and collapsed slopes pose a high risk, directly threatening the safety of people's lives and property. To proactively prevent risks caused by storm No. 11, Yen Phu commune authorities urgently evacuated 28 households from the danger zone; the households were temporarily arranged to stay at the village cultural house and 2 classrooms of Yen Lam Primary and Secondary School.

In Ma Lau A village, Lung Cu commune, 31 households with 169 people have been moved out of the area at high risk of landslides. Lung Cu commune authorities have actively propagated to local people to closely monitor weather forecasts and proactively take preventive measures to protect themselves and their families.

The work of supporting food, drinking water, medicine and necessary necessities is being actively implemented by the province's functional forces to ensure the lives and spirits of people at evacuation sites.

According to forecasts, storm No. 11 (MATMO) is approaching very close to the mainland, causing heavy rain in the northern provinces, including Tuyen Quang province.
