The encounter with the reigning U.17 champion Japan is a difficult challenge for U.17 Vietnam. Therefore, coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team is preparing everything necessary to solve this "exam".

Regarding the squad, after the opening match against U.17 India, midfielder Le Huynh Trieu suffered a knee injury. Fortunately, after only 2 days of rest and care from doctors and physical therapists, Huynh Trieu was able to return to normal training. Most likely, this player will be able to play in the second match.

Cong Phuong (9) and his teammates worked with the coaching staff to analyze the playing style of U.17 Japan.

Evaluating U.17 Japan, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan said: "This match is extremely difficult, the 4 teams almost started from scratch. We know how strong Japanese football is. Their youth training or national team is very strong. This match is not easy, but as I told the players, at the youth team level like U.15, U.16, U.17, stability is not high and professional perfection is not complete. Objectively, there are certain advantages for U.17 Vietnam, but that is not the decisive issue. What is important in the next match is how the U.17 Vietnam players play, what is their mentality, whether they are highly determined and whether their professional skills are at their best or not?".

On the morning of June 19, U.17 Vietnam spent more than 2 hours dissecting and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of U.17 Japan through video. Although cautious, the whole team is confident that they will achieve a positive result against a very strong opponent. "The coaching staff has had analysis sessions on the Japanese team's playing style through video and documents collected about opponents in the group stage before coming here. This morning, U.17 Vietnam had a short meeting, studying the Japanese team's playing style to prepare for tomorrow's match," Coach Hoang Anh Tuan shared.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan believes that youth teams are not yet stable, so U.17 Vietnam has every hope.

The match between U.17 Vietnam and U.17 Japan will take place at 5:00 p.m. on June 20 at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.
