This is the second round of recruitment according to the teacher selection process for the 2025-2026 school year in Ho Chi Minh City. This round takes place on September 27 and 28.
This is also the first time that teacher recruitment has taken place on such a large scale and concentrated throughout the city at all levels: preschool, primary, secondary and high school.
The specific requirements when participating in the second round of the exam are that candidates must state the educational content and requirements of the problem; determine the required levels of each knowledge unit related to the problem content stated in the exam to develop teaching plans and design teaching activities; form in students what qualities and abilities and state the techniques, methods and teaching aids to be used.
Candidates will take the exam in the following form: draw lots to choose practice questions, prepare presentation content on the preparation form within 15 minutes, submit the preparation form to the examination and testing committee members, and present knowledge, illustrate professional skills according to the prepared content and answer questions from the examination and testing committee members within 30 minutes.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, in the first phase of the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City needs to recruit 5,696 civil servants, of which 5,022 are civil servants of wards, communes, and special zones and 674 are from public service units under the department.
Public service units under the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Region 1 will need 466 civil servants, Region 2 (former Binh Duong province): 152 civil servants and Region 3 (former Ba Ria - Vung Tau province): 56 civil servants.
Public service units under the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones in region 1 (formerly Ho Chi Minh City) recruited 2,721 teachers; region 2 (formerly Binh Duong province) recruited 1,672 teachers and region 3 (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) recruited 629 teachers.

Responding to Tuoi Tre Online reporter, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City - said that in this recruitment round, there were 266 candidates registered for high school chemistry but only 20 positions were recruited.
High school biology has 120 candidates registered for 19 positions; high school physics has 265 candidates but only 18 positions; high school math has 267 candidates registered for 68 positions.
On the contrary, there are positions such as music, art, and technology teachers with very few candidates registered compared to the demand. Of which, the primary music subject has only 46 candidates out of 180 positions. The secondary music subject has 65 candidates registered out of 223 positions. The primary art subject has a demand of 194 but only 30 candidates registered.
The demand for fine arts at the junior high school level is 235 but there are only 57 applicants. The demand for technology (industrial engineering) at the senior high school level is 13 positions but there are only 4 applicants. The demand for technology (agricultural engineering) at the senior high school level is 7 positions but there are only 2 applicants.

According to Ms. Ngoc Chau, with such competitive positions, Ho Chi Minh City will increasingly recruit quality teachers. Although it has just merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City will recruit based on the criteria of taking scores from top to bottom, without dividing recruitment criteria by region.
"With the criteria of selecting a quality teaching staff and a fair, objective and regulated recruitment process, Ho Chi Minh City has completely independently implemented all stages, from creating questions, interviews to examiners.
The test committee is completely isolated to ensure the confidentiality of the test until the end of the exam. For candidates, we conduct a random draw on the test that has been handed over by the test committee. The number of questions given will be more than the number of candidates to ensure the draw is the most objective and fair.
For the examiners, the method of ensuring objectivity is also implemented. Each exam session will select the examiner by drawing lots. The examiner will not know which candidate will be interviewed in which exam room.
The assignment of judges is also based on the redundancy plan. If any judge gets the number 0, that judge will perform another task without directly interviewing the candidate. Round 1 is the recruitment round based on the profile and round 2 is the round to decide the quality of the candidate. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City is determined to do it carefully," Ms. Ngoc Chau emphasized.
